Tom graduated from University College London in 2010 with a MSci degree in Natural Sciences (Chemistry with Cell and Molecular Biology). His final year research project was supervised by Dr Derek MacMillan on the development of Native Chemical Ligation methodology. Tom then moved to Bristol in 2011 to pursue a PhD under the supervision of Prof. Chris Willis, working on the development of a novel cyclisation reaction and its application towards the synthesis of a natural product target, Calyxin I.
