Giorgia graduated from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 2008 with a MSc in Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry. Her final year project concerned the synthesis of supramolecular systems, rotaxanes and catenanes. During her studies she undertook a placement at the Université Joseph Fourier in Grenoble, France.
 
After her MSc graduation, in September 2008, she undertook a placement in Noscira Biopharmaceutical Company of Tres Cantos, Madrid. After work experience at Johnson & Johnson and at Procter & Gamble, she returned to a PhD position with Prof Adam Nelson and in collaboration with Prof Nigel Hooper and Colin Fisher.  Her PhD position was supported by an endowed Emma & Leslie Reid Scholarship at the University of Leeds.  Giorgia now works as a consultant to the pharmaceutical sector.
